1. Content Standard: Script Writing and Story Making
- a. collaborate to select interrelated characters, environments, and situations for classroom dramatizations
- b. improvise dialogue to tell stories, and formalize improvisations by writing or recording the dialogue
2. Content Standard: Role Playing and Improvisations
- a. imagine and clearly describe characters, their relationships and their environments
- b. use variations of facial expression, body language, and voice for different characters
- c. create situations to plays and assume roles
3. Content Standard: Designing Playing Space
- a. visualize environments and construct designs to show setting and mood using visual elements
- b. collaborate to create playing spaces for classroom dramatizations and to select and safely organize available materials that suggest scenery, properties, costumes, and makeup.
4. Content Standard: Directing
- a. collaboratively plan and prepare improvisations and demonstrate various ways of staging classroom dramatizations

- a. compare how ideas and emotions are expressed in theater, drama media, dance, music and visual arts
- b. select movement, music, or visual elements to enhance the mood of classroom dramatizations

- a. identify and describe the aesthetic and movement elements of classroom dramatizations and drama performances
- b. compare and contrast the wants and needs of characters to one’s own.

7. Content standards: Understanding and recognizing the relevance of drama in daily life
- a. identify and compare similar characters in and situations in stories and dramas from and about various cultures.
- b. identify the purpose for creating drama and other media productions
8. Content Standard: Identifying and demonstrating movement elements and skills in performing a dance
- a. accurately demonstrate locomotor / axial movements (bend, twist, stretch, swing)
- b. accurately demonstrate eight basic locomotor movements (walk, run, hop, jump, leap, gallop, slide, and skip) and directionals
- c. demonstrate accuracy in moving to a musical beat and responding to changes in tempo
- d. demonstrate kinesthetic awareness, concentration, and focus in performing movement skills
- e. use improvisation to discover and invent movement in dance
- f. perform folk dances from various cultures with competence and confidence
